Looking at Delphi, and want the other failure mode.
Both put an AI where people can ask you things. They disagree about what should happen when the question goes past what you have actually said.
- Delphi is in the business of a convincing version of you. That is a real thing to want, and it is not what this is.
- Here, an answer must be built out of sentences you wrote, it shows which ones, and it stops when it runs out.
- The part with no equivalent in that category: who is asking changes what the AI is allowed to see, and the removing happens before the AI reads a word.
What we will and will not claim here
We are not going to put a feature table on this page. Delphi ships, this page would go stale, and a comparison that is wrong in our favour is not a comparison.
So the only claim made about them is the one about the category they are in, which they say themselves: they build a version of you that talks to people. Everything specific below is about what this product does, and you can check all of it by making a free page and trying to break it.
What is different here
- It answers per audience, not per visitor
- You set, per topic, what a stranger on the web gets, what somebody signed in gets, and what a person you invited gets. In full, Roughly, Yes or no, or Hidden. The same question can honestly have three different answers.
- The filtering is not instructions
- What an audience is not allowed to know is taken away before the AI reads anything. It is not a rule in a prompt asking the model to keep a secret, because a model that has been handed something can be talked into saying it.
- Sources on every answer
- Under each answer are the sentences of yours it used, with dates. Not everything it looked at: what it actually used. Padded sources stop being sources.
- A log you own
- Every question anybody asked, what your page said, and which words it used, in your Activity. You can always answer the question, what has my page been saying about me.
- A floor nothing crosses
- Nothing about money or health is ever stored here or answered here, by anyone, at any level. There is no setting for it.
- It is free for people
- Your page, your audiences, being asked, your log: free, and staying free. Companies are the part that will be paid for.
A clone's failure
A plausible sentence you never said, in your voice, while you were asleep.
Would you take on a fixed-price build? Absolutely, I am comfortable with fixed price for a scope like this, and I could start in a fortnight. You have never said either of those things.
This product's failure
Refusing something you would happily have answered, until you go and write it down.
Would you take on a fixed-price build? She has not written about fixed price. Nearest: she wants scope agreed in writing before a start date. And the question comes back to her, to answer properly.
How to choose between them
Ask which sentence would hurt you more.
A plausible sentence you never said, sent to a client in your voice while you were asleep. Or a page telling a stranger that you have not written about that, when in fact you have an opinion and simply never typed it.
If it is the first one, you want this. If it is the second, you want the other category, and you should go and get it.
