A company page, proved by your own domain.
One page for the company, answered by the people who work there through their own settings, with a room where anyone can ask the group.
- A company page is proved by a record on your domain, re-checked every day. Nobody can put up a page claiming to be you.
- Members answer in their own words through their own settings. Nobody hands over their personal page to get one.
- Free today. Company accounts are the part that will eventually be paid for, and you will be told before that changes.
How a company page works
Prove the domain
Add a record to your DNS and the company is yours. It is checked again every day, so a page cannot outlive the proof behind it.
Write what the company knows
How you work, what you build, how you hire, what you have decided and why. Set who gets what, the same four levels as a person's page.
Add the people
Administrators and members. A member's own page can answer for the company in their own words, through their own settings, and stays theirs entirely.
Open a room, if you want one
A space where a question goes to the group: who may read it, who may answer, what it is about, and a way in that does not need a list of names. Answers come back separately, in each person's own words, never merged into one voice.
What it is good for
- The questions sales and recruiting answer daily
- How you handle security review, what your stack is, what it is like to work there. Written once, answerable by anyone, including the assistants that increasingly do the first pass.
- Being quotable by an assistant
- Everything the company shares publicly has a plain-text version and can be asked directly by an assistant. When somebody's model is deciding whether to mention you, it can read what you actually said.
- Several voices, not one
- A company where four engineers answer in their own words is more convincing than any about page, and this is the only shape here that allows it. Nothing is merged and nothing is ranked.
What it does not do to your people
A person's page is theirs. Joining a company does not give the company their writing, their audiences or their log, and leaving does not take their page with it.
A company cannot see who asked one of its members about what. Traffic about a person is a fact about the people doing the asking, and it is not a company's to have.
